Weather in May

Hi

Does anyone know what the weather will be like in the first 2 weeks of May.... I can see that the beginning part of April was very kind, but it has declined a little, and I am getting mixed weather forcasts etc.

We are hoping to be able to use the pool and spend days on the beach... pretty hard to beleive when you are used to day after day of miserable weather in the UK, although it was ok yesterday but not warm.

Any comments would be welcomed. thanks

Hi Ginap, long range forecasts are not very accurate for the island but if you follow the link below and it will give you an idea of what to expect :):-

Don't forget the sun cream as you will need it :)

The pool might be chilly early in May but you get used to it.

We have not visited in May for a while but here are some photos of a thermometer from May 10th 2007 when we where there for our wedding anniversary holiday.

The first picture was in the shade at lunchtime under the covered terrace of a rental villa ( Can cammerotja not far from the animal sanctuary), no sun at all on that at 30 degrees.

The second picture was in the sun about 45 minutes later, 56.3 !

We are visiting again this year for our wedding anniversary week and will be there 11th to 18th May and I cant wait for some sun, sangria and quality time with my wife :)

We've been in May a few times and have found it to be lovely when we've been. Our birthdays are in mid May, so tend to base it around this. The pool can be a little chilly, but everything else has been just like a full on summer back in the UK. Only on our first night did we eat inside in the evening on our last trip in May and we could feel the heat progressing throughout our stay and at the end it was vest top and shorts at night.

Ginap - As the old saying goes "you pay your money and you take your chance".
Been going to PP in late May / early June for some years and more often than not the weather good overall. BUT the weather can be changeable at this time of year before it settles into its summer pattern. Been when it is absolutely glorious been when thunderstorms have been somewhat prevalent - May / June 2011 for example!!!
Neither Sparky nor anyone else can do a thing about it.
People do tend to enjoy PP whatever the weather, but the sun certainly helps.
Hope it will be good for you and that you enjoy your hol's.

Hi, new on here have been visiting area for last 3 Augusts and always have a great time. We've just booked last minute for end of May for a change. Will it be warm in evenings or do you need jacket/cardi? Have two girls so just planning wardrobe! Thanks

Welcome aboard, it is nearly 11.30pm here and the temperature is still 21c. It should not be necessary but some times if you have been in the sun a lot or if there have been any showers you can feel a bit chilly in the evening, so maybe you could pack something lightweight ;).
