cook help August 2013
Hope this is the right way to do it ...
We are a family of 10 coming to a villa outside PP 18th to 28th Aug 2013.
Can anyone put me in the right direction to find a daily cook to prepare meals for the family?
I imagine that a cook from a restaurant cld fit this in by working a.m. before usual work.
or a practical housewife with ordinary cooking skills who is keen to make a bit extra
Not cordon bleu but sensible home cooking
Villa is just outside PP quite near Ca'an Curassa resto
thanks for any help
P.P

Gers,
They are a family of ten, it could actually be cheaper than eating out!

I disagree. It was rude under any circumstances. If someone wants a personal chef that is their perogative. Percypop came on this forum to ask for advice. What difference does it make if it's his 1st or 50th post?!

Firstly, Percypop welcome to the forum and i apologise for the very rude reply from Gers, there is a company on the island that provide this service but i can't remember the name offhand, i will try to find it for you.
Secondly, Gers, your posts are not nice, everyone has different ideas of a perfect holiday and this forum is here to help everyone to have the best experience that they can.

Well when I read this post my reaction was " what a brilliant idea "
I know from experience that it isn't always easy getting a table for 10 organised without lots of forward planning and sometimes having to book days in advance
I just thought how nice it would be for the family to eat together each evening in their villa without having to forgo restaurant quality meals ..... I also wondered if they had small children or elderly relatives in their party for whom going out to dinner each evening isn't always possible
One thing I never ever thought was that someone was trying to show off or it was a wind up ..... Why would anyone think that?
We often have a week in Cornwall in the summer and it is quite common for people to either have prepared meals delivered to their cottages or arrange for. Chef to come to them and prepare s meal .... Granted not every evening but certainly a few nights each week
Also no one thinks the idea of a catered chalet odd during a ski break so why would a catered villa cause such a reaction?
Really hope you find a great chef and when you do please let us know how you get on ..... I am sure many of us may want to follow suit

Chef for villa
There is a company called Chef en Casa which certainly used to be able to supply chefs for preparing meals in your own villa. I exect a Google search would locate them.
Also Billy of the Ivy Garden Restaurant in Puerto Pollensa does catering in private villas etc in addition to running his own excellent restaurant. Even if he can't help, I expect he would know a man/woman chef who can!

Percypop, you could try Billy from the Ivy Garden 49 restaurant, he advertises outside catering and meals delivered to your accomodation, have a look here on this link :- Restaurants, Cafes, Bars in Puerto Pollensa (Port de Pollenca), Majorca Mallorca.

I'm also astonished at some of the rudeness on here. I actually received a direct email from percypop asking me for advice. I directed him towards the forum as I was sure that some of the members would be able to help and fortunately some of you have.
Percypop I can only apologise on behalf of the others who obviously have nothing better to do on a Public Holiday than have a go at new members.

I just wonder if the misunderstanding might have been due to reading too much into today's date!
