Default Looking to bring the motorbike over to Mallorca

..the bike in my avatar

I know I will have to get the ferry from Barcelona, anyone used this ferry? what is it like?

not been on a car ferry for years, and use the chunnel when going to France/Belgium (I was involved in the design of the Eurotunnel Locomotive and designed the Bar car on the Eurostar). Which at £49 return (UK-EU) is a bargain.

Anyone know fare prices for the Barcelona/Palma ferry?

Thanks

We used the Barcelona to Alcudia ferry last year when we brought our car over. I can't remember the prices but they would be different anyway for a motor bike, the Balearia web site will have all the prices quoted though.

As for the experience; well it was a means of getting from A to B, certainly nothing luxurious, an overnight sailing in a reclining seat (cabins are very expensive!), small bar offering sandwiches. Well organised car deck.

The best thing about it was driving off in Alcudia.

I just did a quick search with Ferrysavers.com and for Barcelona to Palma it came up with 193€ for one passenger + motorbike + recliner seat.

oooh ta sparky & whaley.

So it's not a bad price. must admit as you fly over Barcelona to Palma, it does not seem to be that far.

Looking into doing the trip next year..as I don't think jet2 will thank me for trying to put the Triumph into the hold

The afternoon ferry to Alcudia goes via Menorca and is more like a Seacat / Cattermeran so has very limited facilities and basic seating for a long crossing.

The late night ferry is direct to Palma and has basic unallocated seating, bookable more expensive (maybe 10 euro ??) reclining seating (but not quiet) and cabins which may be too expensive for a single traveller.

The Balaeria website has all the info

Does the Barcelona / Alcudia ferry run all year round or only in summer?
