Electronic cigarettes
Hi,
I have been a lurker on this forum for a while, been visiting Puerto Pollensa for the last 27 years. Since the smoking ban can anybody tell me what the attitude is towards electronic cigarettes in the bars and resturants. Tried a search but cant find any info.
Thanks in advance

pity the uk rules re smoking are not in place there. Nothing worse than having a meal when someone lights up next to you. Would much prefer an electronic one sat next to me.

Hi Christwodogs and welcome to the forum.
What with smoking and dog muck, you must have had a miserable time in PP.
Have you any positives to mention?

Thanks for the answer, the vapour from them is very realistic and some people still take the hump. Mine looks a bit like a sonic screwdriver so people shouldn't be confused. Never mind will be put to the test Tues 21st Aug when I arrive.

Why the need for electronic cigs? If you want to smoke just sit outside. I thought electronic cigs were a Ryanair invention to get more money out of people

The point is I don't want to "smoke". Electronic "cigarettes" produce a glycerine based vapour that gives a similar sensation to tobacco based smoke without all of the cancer inducing chemicals. Unfortunately my willpower is non existent and I use a substantially less harmfull substitute to satisfy my cravings. I will also add that in the past 14 months since I substituted a personal vapouriser for tobacco based products my health has improved beyond recognition. I only used the term Electronic Cigarette so that those who were unaware of personal vapourisers had a rough idea what I was talking about.

Irco, Not having a pop at you on smoking, just trying to point out that(for smokers) sitting outside in the PP climate should not be any hardship. Glad your health has improved, as far as electric cigs go, doubt if anybody would complain as long as they don't have any effect on anybody else, not as if your polluting the air our blowing smoke into the area were poor diners are trying to enjoy their meal.

El Gordo, the weather was fine, so yes a positive.
It was sold to me as a fantastic resort, safe for kids and families, which obviously it is. And yes I did have a good time. However stepping over condoms bobbing on the tiny wave on the beach at Cala Vicente isnt my type of fun. I will stop now and remove my name from the forum as developmental feedback isnt liked on this forum

Smiddy,
Thanks for the cosidered reply. I was a smoker in my early lifetime and gave it up when our first child was born. It was not easy, I loved the drug, but other things were more important. It took two years to loose the cravings.
Fortunatly I was fit enough to play five aside football etc. which helped.
But!
I still hate anyone blowing ciggie smoke in my direction, I am not averse to asking them to stop, (with attitude).
cheers,
jimbo

Why leave the forum just because you have an opinion? PP is a great place but there are areas for improvement.
Feel free to comment and don't be forced off by other's comments.
Carry on....
