Default Postal Deliveries

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please? I am sending a large package via Royal Mail from England to Puerto Pollensa this week and am expecting the delivery to be made to our apartment whilst I'm on holiday. I was wondering what the process would be if they tried to deliver when I was out. Do they leave a Delivery Note and then have to go along to the sorting office? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi Bekki, yes they will leave a card and you then collect from the post office in C/Roger de Flor. I would suggest you take your passport with you .

I've done this a few times and Sparky is exactly right.

A card will be left and you then need to go to the main post office. They speak good English there but you MUST take your passport.

Maybe also take a bill of some kind that connects you with your property just in case? Water or electric one would be fine I'd guess.

Hi Bekky

Here is an alternative source of information, MoneysavingExpert, for sending International parcels. You may find it cheaper than using Royal Mail.

I have used the tools on the site to find the cheapest based on weight and size successfully in the past, although the advice for picking up missed deliveries using a carrier would be different for each carrier.

Hope you receive your parcel safely.
