Default Where do the years go?.

I can't believe how fast the time is going, it's the 3rd December and the 3rd anniversary of us starting our new life here in PP. I can remember on that first morning, standing on the front, feeling tired (it had been a long stressful journey) happy and excited but also a little bit apprehensive. We had never been here in winter and wondered if there would be enough going on socially or would everything be closed. Within a few days we realised that there was lots going on and we quickly settled into our new life .
PP is quieter now than it was then but life still goes on, the Xmas deccies are going up, ok they are nothing like the light shows in the UK but i prefer it this way as thankfully it means Xmas has not been hijacked by commercialism. We don't regret our decision and would not change a thing about our new life .

P.S. The weather was the same on that day back in 2008 but it was much colder .

I am extreemly jealous - were are you spending Christmas and New Year Lynn?

I hope the weather continues to be kind to you.

Feliz Navedad (think that's right)

Hi GG, Christmas Eve in Nostalgia and we are having Christmas Day lunch in Hell's Kitchen and New Years Eve is usually a bit of a pub crawl around the Port .

It's "Feliz Navidad" or the Mallorquins say "Bon Nadal"

Sparky, I couldn't agree more. As you know we moved just 12months before you. Whoever thinks PP is boring in the winter need only ask and we could soon tell them oh how wrong they are. I notice that TRIO have halved the price of their New Years Eve bash to 50 euro's, so everyone making an effort in these difficult times. Bon Nadal to all on the forum.

Hello Sparky, ( Or can I call you Lynn)

I can imagine the excitement and apprehension you must have felt on that first day.
you certainly did do the right thing in moving there, and I am totally envious of you, but hope to move there lock stock and barrel, maybe some day in the next year or two.
Its also encouraging to see that the commercialism of Christmas has not reached PP
Anyway good luck to you now and in the future
"Bon Nadal"

Ronnie

Absolutely Lollipop and it is brilliant that they are trying so hard, it's just a shame that we can't go to them all.

Hi Ronnie, of course you can call me Lyn.
The locals place more importance on Christmas Eve or "Nochebuena" and they don't have "Boxing Day", NYE is a busy night though. Of course the really big day for the children is The Three Kings or " Dia de los Reyes" on 5th/6th January and then here in the north of the island there is "San Antoni" on 16th/17th January, that's my personal favourite fiesta .
