Default Looky looky men?

Has anyone seen any looky looky men about this early in the season? My son want a cheap watch for the beach, and got one last time there for about 10eu. I know they are just very cheap copies, but if it lasts the week he'll be happy.

Yes Kenpool they are still here. There is a problem with them down south, the police have been cracking down on the illegal street traders or as like to call them, the "Lucky, Lucky men" and one policeman was attacked.

I'm sure P.P. could do without them!
I would think you may be able to get your son a cheap watch at a 'proper' market stall any Wednesday in P.P., or in one of the seaside shops not far from the Marina.

I agree with Pescador, i didn't mind so much when there were just a few of them but now there are far too many and some of them really do make a nuisance of themselves. It would be great if they brought back the legitimate traders in the square and on the front in the evenings.

Totally agree Sparky, I missed them last year, also the street clown who was very amusing.
They still do this on Alcudia harbour two nights a week I think and it makes a nice pleasant stroll.

kenpool, I assume you mean you are coming out for a week. I can't help thinking you should buy a cheap watch in the UK before you come in Argos, local market or the pound shops! Probably get one cheaper and will probably last more than a week!

yes, we miss the entertainers & craft/jewelery stalls, portrait painters, etc

they added the finishing touch to a mooch along the prom of an evening

did the council object?

Rather than helping illegal traders of counterfeit goods why not buy before you go.

I totally agree with Mark and have just posted the below comment in "Daily Bulletin points of interest."

This is bad news.......I've mentioned/warned readers before about buying from these people. Obviously they're not all bad but when you buy their rubbish you'll know it's either counterfeit or not up to any sort of EU standards.

However, the most important thing to consider is that the vast majority of end profit from these purchases goes into the drugs/underworld/terrorist business, believe me.

I'll warn people again, DO NOT BUY FROM THESE VENDORS. We will have big problems soon if this lot descend in PP in great numbers.

Immigration is out of control in our country and do we really want the same in Mallorca.....I think not.

Ken, you're son won't need a watch for the beach, do as the Romans did, follow the sun

Not sure about kids needing watches, they don't go anywhere nowadays without their mobile phones. How long before the lucky, lucky men start selling these!!

Just to add further kenpool, I've listened to this lot selling their rubbish, counterfeit watches in PP and no way will you get a copy "designer" watch for anything like 10 euros.

Why not buy a watch from one of the many shops in PP and support local business?

That way you help the economy, won't get ripped off, can return it if it packs up the next day and won't benefit organised crime with these people.

Simples....

(I know I've sounded off about these people but they are a nightmare and I make no apologies.)

I was always under the impression that they didn't actually sell much of the tat they openly display but just used it a a front for the stuff they sell that they don't display

I do remember a few years ago when I first saw one in PP and groaned
