Default Does anyone know anything about this?

I have been visiting Cala San Vicent for many years but never noticed this rather unusual building overlooking Cala Barques. I would be very interested to learn more about it. Can anyone help?

Marilyn,

Looks like that nice detached residence of Bin Laden's in Pakistan that the Yanks found the other night !!

Must say the refuge collection is impressive. Emptying the bins on a Bank Holiday !!

Sorry, couldn't resist it , guys !!

For some reason I can't open your photo, Marilyn - but I think you're probably referring to a house which has quite a heavy Moorish influence? No idea who built it or how old it is but for years it was a private villa which could be rented out for holidays via what was then Club Pollensa. Then I think it was turned into apartments - which I assume can still be rented out, though I don't know for sure and I haven't seen them advertised recently. It's an amazing place - pretty much right on the beach! We visited that bay on a really grey day over Easter - even though it was such a miserable, cloudy bay the water was still the most amazing turquoise... it would be quite something to live in that villa...

I seem to recall reding something about it on the information board in the car park above it. I thought it was some kind of museum/cultural centre - no doubt someone else will be able to enlighten us.

This building was shut up for quite a few years in the late 90's and at one point looked really run down. I know several years ago there were sunbeds outside and it looked occupied but I never saw a single person there
Not noticed it looking occupied during our recent visits as it is somewhere I like to nosey at
