Also looking forward to the updates.................4m euros, that's one heck of a lot of money................it must be something amazing?????

If it's just for a few plants and slabs then I'm in the wrong business!!!!!

Regarding the plans, I wonder if there's a local council website where they can be viewed. Sure there must be?

Anyway, Sparky's kind offer of photo's will be the best indicator as to how things are going to look.

I agree 4million is a lot and don't believe that amount is to be spent just on the square .
There is not much to report as, true to form, nothing has actually been done yet, apart from the market being held in the car park .
Watch this space guys!!!.

Well, things get even better then. 4m euros spent on the whole of the port will give it a major makeover/facelift. Also, as mentioned, let's hope these palm trees get sorted out ASAP. The place is going to look scruffy if they keep getting cut down.

What there is on the town hall's website in respect of the square is the announcement of works for the improvement of water resources and energy management - at a cost of 400,000 euros. From what I can make out, there is no other work contracted.

Yes a lorry load of barriers and pipework was delivered this morning ,using the parking area of the renovated school to house things at the moment. For those of you living in or arounf the Cadernera, (Ikebana end) they have started to lift the tarmac . I presume to start the regeneration work on the drains and lights. Is there an election coming up ??

At last work has begun in earnest in the square with railings and seats being removed this morning.

Any news if the removal of the railings is permanent , I always thought they spoilt the square, it seemed more open and spacious when they weren't there?

I see your point SWS but if they are going to spend a lot of money on grass, plants and shrubs it would be a shame to have it ruined by children and animals running riot through it all, so railings may well be needed to protect it.
