Default Senior Citizens Club in PP?!

My daughter, who is studying Spanish in the 6th form at school, is doing a research project on the changing role of women in Spain. She wants to interview some elderly Spanish ladies to find out more about how things have changed in the last 50 years or so. We'll be in Puerto Pollensa in August so she wants to do some research then. I seem to remember that there is a Day Centre/Club de jubilados in one of the roads leading to the square. Could anyone give me the address/contact details for the Centre? I can't find anything on the Internet. Many thanks.

Claire,

The Community Centre you are referring to is in Calle Mestral , just walk off the square , past where the Talk of the North Offices were/are ?? , across the street on your right ( before you get to where the Mousetrap Cafe was.

Sorry don't know too many elderly Spanish ladies ( know a few young en's though !!!! ) . However the local bars and cafes in that area are packed every morning with 'em. your daughter could do a lot worse than going into have a chat with em. Most of them are really friendly .

The best place for her to find elderly people is probably in the association of mejores ,which is on the metge llopis, this is the rd that runs from the square alongside the Club Cultural .The Club is also a good place to find the ladies. Some also attend classes at the local swimming pool and are there around 9.30 ish .

On our visits to PP we have noticed mainly a group of older ladies and sometimes on occasions gentleman sitting outside a property in the C/ Mendez Nuņez. This is a nightly event. We have always wondered if it was a type of club for senior citizens or some sort of old peoples home. This property is about second up from the corner of carrera de formentor.
