We did not notice Ant last night, but if his meal was as good as ours he will have really enjoyed it.

Celebs - people who other people recognise but who are too far up themselves to be intersting to know

Think it works with the alphabet, the likes of Pitt, Connery,Clooney etc being "A" list. The likes of Ant and Dec, Katie Price, Soap Stars etc, being "Z" list

I think everyone is slightly tarring all so called 'celebs' (stupid word) with the same brush! You will get stuck up, rude, offensive people in all walks of life from actors in soaps to so called 'real' people

A couple of years ago Tony Hadley got my suitcase off the carousel for me at Luton airport and I wasn't star struck at all!!!!!! And he'd flown Easyjet ...now that's what I call slumming it

I am a bit confused Debz.......nobody has said that celebs are "rude and offensive". I merely said that i did not get the fascination with them .

I also never said they were rude either My point was that the people who are currently called celebs in my mind aren't , your point about Tony was perfect, you didn't have to say Tony Hadley, you know the guy who is the singer with Spandau Ballet, he is a celeb like Pitt and the others.

To be fair, debz didn't actually say that anyone said they were rude and offensive, it was merely a comment about people in general.

Yes, merely Debz's observation of the "Celeb's" of this world.....can't agree with her more....good & bad in all walks of life! They must hold a great fascination for a lot of folk....I think there are about three different threads on them....I like the one about "Famous People in the Port" love them or hate them.....we have something in common with them!!....their great choice in a holiday destination!! If they come and spend their money in PP that can only be a good thing!!

I never meant to imply that anyone had said 'celebs' were rude or offensive merely that you will get a wide range of characters in life whether they are faces from tv or 'real' people. So called celebs are recognised when they are seen out of their usual environment and are real people made of flesh and blood! Some of them I'm sure love the attention, others just get on with their lives and probably wish to go unnoticed.

As favies says they all have something in common with us...they have chosen to come to one of the best places in the world

Debz, I agree with you. These kind of people can be found anywhere and everywhere. They certainly do not need to be celebs or famous in any way. You can always find people who have a high opinion of themselves and feel superior - these are the people who are 'not real'!
Your example of Tony Hadley is a great one. The media encourages us to believe whatever they choose to write - right or wrong and we make judgements based on that but as you said - they can be found anywhere.
