Default famous people in the port

Anyone know if Rick Stien famous West Country chef & restaurant owner is in Port. I could have sworn it was him down by Katys. I heard the person say "What a waste " and then take photos of Katys.
Later saw the same person having late lunch in Pescados. If it was him ,excuse the pun, theres food for thought.

bar katy got a bit of a clean up last week - we saw the old sign being removed, & the next day all the debris had been cleared from the patio area, but nothing since....

We were having late evening drink outside the Miramar just over three weeks ago when a chap walked past who looked just like the guy who plays Danny in the BBC Series "Hustle".

It was quite late, (and not that warm) so there was only another couple outside, but he obviously caught their eye too. Its not that unusual to see well-known faces, but just minutes later, I swore that I saw Phillip Glennister (DC Gene Hunt in Ashes to Ashes) walking along the Pine Walk.

I thought that I must have had one too many of the hotel's generous G&T measures, especially as the last episode of Ashes to Ashes was being shown that week, so I guessed that he was likely to be in the UK, and thought very little more of it.

Your thread got me thinking about it again, and a quick Google search brought up that they are both in Mallorca at the moment filming a series for Sky. It looks like Pollensa, and Formentor are the two main locations being used, so perhaps they will reappear this season?

Ahh, that's when we would've been out there. I didn't see either of them, what a shame. Hustle and Ashes to Ashes are two of the favourites in our house, so Mr M would've been happy. We had to endure someone else in Deia

As for Mr Steine....well, it's a nice thought for something to reopen that's in a good location etc etc. But, I frequent Cornwall quite a lot, including Fifteen, down at Watergate. Although I love staying at The Hotel and using all the eateries, it has changed those places in Cornwall into something that just doesn't feel right. I'm not sure PP would be right either.

Well Padstow has been renamed by the locals, they now call it Padstein because he has virtually taken over the village. Last time i was there he owned the Seafood Restaurant, the fish and chip shop, a bistro, deli, bakery and a hotel. A lot of the locals are openly hostile about him, which i don't really understand because he provides a lot of jobs.
It's a lot like here i suppose with the "PP Mafia" taking over most businesses.

Yes, Mad Dogs it is called....

Mad Dogs is an upcoming 4 X 60” drama serial starring Max Beesley, Philip, John Simm and Marc Warren. Written by Chris Cole and produced by BAFTA award winning production company Left Bank Pictures (Wallander, Strike Back), the ensemble piece brings together a stellar line up of British talent both on and off screen with Max, Philip, John and Marc taking up the four principal roles.

Mad Dogs was commissioned by Elaine Pyke, Head of Drama, Sky1HD, Sky1 Sky2 and Sky3.
Mad Dogs centres around the reunion of a group of old friends. Woody (Beesley), Quinn (Philip), Baxter (Simm) and Rick (Warren) have been mates since sixth form. The fifth member of the gang, Alvo, lives in Majorca, having made his fortune in property.

Now in their 40s; a mix of single, married and divorced; they’ve been invited out to Alvo’s villa to celebrate his retirement. However, their trip does not work out as planned and takes a dark turn when the holiday becomes a labyrinthine nightmare of lies, deception and murder. Mad Dogs is a darkly comic twisted tale of friendship put to the ultimate test as an inconceivable chain of events unfolds. Four ordinary blokes faced with a set of extraordinary circumstances and not handling it!

Philip Glenister AND John Simm... I've died and gone to heaven! Probably a good thing I am not in PP right now or I would turn into a bit of a stalker...

If it helps, they were both heading (seperately) in the direction of the Illa D'or when I saw them. (I'm not a detective but I'm guessing that they won't be sharing four-to-a-room at the Oro Playa!)

Nice to see that work is going on at Bar Katy, but what a shame that the big palm tree in front of the building has been cut down.
