Default Forum Members Golf Day

just an idea quite a number of members I see play golf how about we get together for a game some time during July/August. I am sure we could cut a deal at PP Golf and we could have lunch after. And the non golf playing members/partners could join us for lunch the food is great and the view is to die for.
If enough are interested I will organise it just post and let me know

Like the idea fil - sadly I won't be out there at that time. I am an extremely enthusiastic golfer (my user name is in honour of one of my favourite courses!) and most of my trips out to PP are for golfing purposes these days. The roads are so good that most of the courses on the island are an hour away or less.

I'm sad I can't do it because I always love the combination of golf and lunch! Added to that you are right - the views at the Pollensa golf club are astonishing!

Rab I've just shouted upstairs to hubby and he shouted back LOTS!!!

About a 100 €

fil6699 OH would also be up for a round but we're only there for a few days at the end of August so not sure if he'd be able to ( or if I'd let him!!!)

Back out again early September though if anyone in PP then who'd fancy a round.
I'll come for the lunch afterwards

Wouldn't it be ridiculously hot to play golf in August and September? OH said he would also be up for a game - he's handicap is he has never played! Well, a few times really. I really want to do the lunch though!

I think the secret is to play first thing in the morning.

My husband went out a couple of years back to Pollensa golf club, did the first 9 holes and then got a golf cart for the second 9 as it was so hot !!

We will not be out July/Aug so cannot join in. Great idea though.

LOL! What problems and mistakes arise due to a couple of very tiny words!
Please amend to "go to" rather than "do"!

Actual cost of a round of golf at Alcanada for the `walk in visitor´is 105 euros. Suprisingly this is not the most expensive course on the island !!!!!

I would think that Son Gual and Pula would be among those fighting it out for "the most expensive course" accolade! Sadly golf in Mediterranean countries isn't cheap generally and high course maintenance costs are undoubtedly a factor in that. The £/Euro doesn't help as well, and although it has recently moved a little more back in our favour it is still a far cry from 1.50 rate we had a few years back.

Crickey Alcanada - we haven't seen 1.50 for probably 5 years!

Indeed we haven't GG - and going even further back some of us still remember the heady days of the Peseta when everything in Mallorca was hilariously cheap for us Brits
