Default shops in PP

Just had a good argument today with one of the shops on the front. I must admit I lost the plot for 30 euros. Mrs gpm bought a pair of trousers for the grandkid and when arriving home the zip was broken. Simple matter, take it back and they will either give you a new pair or a refund. I THAT WILL BE RIGHT.Come back tomorrow, you will have to see the boss, and the next day Mrs gpm is told no other trousers the same, no refund, take a T shirt or something else.Time for a visit!!!!As people came into the shop ,I told them the story and asked them not to buy anything in the shop and stood outside like an idiot telling people not to buy anything. She then phoned her boss an gave my wife a refund. Unfortunately she told me not to return. My wife now says she would have dealt with it. Women!!!Gpm

very sexist mr gpm but congratulations anyway. In mallorca it tends to be that the shop assistants have no leeway to do anything without the bosses say so, in many shops everything sold in written down by hand for later checking. The dark ages or what

i just thought that as majorca is in the eec and claims the benefits, it should follow the same rules as the rest of us regarding faulty goods. At home you would be entitled to a replacement or a refund, I wasn,t expecting marks & sparks policy, but to offer you a t shirt instead of a pair of trousers is pushing it.

To be honest I can picture myself in the same situation GPM....

I always take time to be polite and nice to shopkeepers, particularly overseas...but I do not accept accept unfairness, arrogance or rudeness. If you've paid good money, you expect a quality product and service...

In retrospect, of course your wife would have dealt with the matter more easily than you wouldn't she?.. :-)
