Oh no - this is just awful news. I hope unlike last time, there were no injuries. This is just ghastly for everyone especially as Mallorca was considered to be a safe island.
everyone needs to be on their guard until these rather awful people just GO AWAY!!

Yes, they're trying to scare away tourists and hit the economy! At least no one was hurt this time.

We all might have to allow more time for check-in/security at the airport!

After flying back at 10 pm last night, shocked to hear of more bombs after last weeks, the police always said they thought they were still on the island, a bit scary at the moment over there, although coming through the airport there was no signs of extra security, clearing customs took no longer than usual, the best thing to do is to try and enjoy your holiday and not to let them win in their plan to disrupt us.

Yes, this is horrendous - in the past ETA have given advance warnings before hitting civilian targets which has been the case here but doesn't exactly give great comfort... looks like Puerto Pollensa are putting extra security measures in place, including security cameras and barriers on streets. It won't stop us coming because it is our second home but it's pretty scary. And don't lets forget the two Guardia Civil officers who were killed were both only in their twenties... For some reason it's always felt like we were safe in Pollensa - a major wake-up call.

Sorry - lest anyone get doubly worried, I was referring to the recent fatalities in Palma Nova at the end of July and not today's bomb - poorly worded, I do apologise.

Thank god there have been no injuries. I can't help but think that this is a reaction to local news reports that since the attack that killed 2 guardia officers there has been an increase in bookings from the UK.

Indeed, very sad news about the bombs again. Is there anybody injured this time? i certainly hope not. What is it with these people, going around to maim or even kill ordinary innocent people who have done nothing to harm THEM at all! Ok, i know they have their believes , but this just isnt the way to go about it. They are all very very sick if you ask me.
Sparky, i dont think they need an excuse, they just do it for fun i'm afraid.

Default Bombings in Palma

As everyone is saying, it looks like some form of campaign is in place in Mallorca to put people off visiting and, unfortunately, it will succeed in scaring some away. It can only be hoped that the security forces will get on top of the situation quickly but it does need the help of everyone to keep their eyes and ears open and report anything "out of the ordinary"

Son was in PP in july after the first bomb. Didn't have a problem with security at Palma airport coming home. As he says, and we do, won't stop us visiting the Island. Increased security is only there for our safety so people should just accept it.

Think that goes without saying Bee.....would be very stupid not to. According to Sws's latest post, it's the lack of it that would concern me.

Default We were in that bar last week!

Got a bit of a surprise when I clicked on the link in the first post. We were in the same bar on Sunday of last week! We'd caught an earlier flight out from UK and were waiting to pick up our friends on a flight 2 hrs later so decided to head down to the beach at Portixol for a drink. My wife had seen the 'original' little spanish resort in an article in the Telegraph as somewhere worth a visit. It's a really nice, quiet (or so we thought!) and very Spanish resort area just south of the airport.
Had a nice quiet drink.....................and on up to PP.
