Question New scenic way to the Pinewalk....

Just back from PP after having a few lovely days over there, & being a bit lucky with the weather....Probably going back over in October for a few days, & have a question relating to that which hopefully one of you lovely people can help me & the missus out with...

Just for a change, thinking of travelling up to PP from Palma via the train from the centre to Sa Pobla.....Question I have got is.....Is there a taxi rank at Sa Pobla station which has cabs there? Or, as it is a town inland, do cabs only go there from other locations just to drop people off, & then return to somewhere where it would be easier for them to pick up a fare?

Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated......

Cheers......

I have caught the train to Palma from Sa Pobla on four occasions and have never seen a taxi. The station is as far as I am aware not near a taxi rank, I think the bus stops somewhere in Sa Pobla but the station has always been deserted when we have been there with no sign of bus/taxi.

Or get the train that ties-up with the bus to PP. See Transport in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca - taxis, bus, trains, airport transfers - Line 342

The other option could be to catch the bus all the way, bus station is near the train station and the journey is probably shorter. Possibly not as scenic though!

The bus station is now underground & combined with the train (& metro) & is now UNDER Placa de Espana & called the Estacio Intermodal.

We travelled from the airport this way a few years ago when the railway was extended to Sa Pobla. It was an interesting and pleasant journey although it takes a bit longer. There was a connecting bus right outside Sa Pobla station to Porto Pollensa. I think this connecting service from Sa Pobla was more frequent when it was first introduced. It now seems to be down to only 3 a day, according to the link to timetables on the left, so it would depend on your arrival time at the airport whether this was a possibility.

Default Taxi at Sa Pobla

The first time we used the train we fell foul of not checking and caught a train that did not connect with the bus. The guy in the station "knew someone" who ran a taxi and called them for us but it made a "cheap" transfer expensive !

Wink

Hiya Guys,

Thanks very much for the info replies........Probably won't risk it, as if you were to miss the bus, the wait seems pretty long after that.......Haven't been to Sa Pobla (yet)....but wouldn't have thought that it might be the type of place where you could while away a good few hours.....

Thanks once again.....
