Default Worry's re PP changing

Over the past year or so there have been several threads on here about PP changing

We hear comments suggesting the opening of a bar here and there is making it "like Magaluf "

Can I just say that I love PP; I would have been quite happy for it to remain as it was , say , about 10 years ago ................. but nowhere stands still

HOWEVER - I had cause to drive through Magaluf and Palma Nova a couple of weeks ago

PP IS NOTHING LIKE EITHER OF THEM .......... and long may that be the case

Yes we have a couple of Irish Bars, an Australian Bar ........ even the dreaded Tex Mex ............. but they would be real top end compared to what I saw in the south

Thankfully, my teenage daughter made it quite clear she had no intention or desire to ever holiday anywhere like that

We need to protect PP; we need to strive to keep it "special" but we also need to ensure our reaction to some of the inevitable change isn't out of proportion

My view is that so long as it remains a working town; so long as most of the visitors are families; so long as our kids choose to return to the place they grew up loving - I don't think things will change too much. a resort mirrors its clientel ............ people who like PP return; people who want other things go elsewhere

That was a great post CD, you are so right when you say things have to move on. If the port had stayed exactly the same for the last 20 or 30 years there would not be enough places for people to stay for holidays or even to live permanently.
I just wish that the council would now spend some money on the roads and pavements, as these are making the port seem shabby but most important, they are dangerous.

Lets hope Sparky that someone from the council reads your post. I agree the pavements are well past their sell by date Not to mention the 'doggy doo' but that was touched on a lot last year so lets hope there is an improvement this year.

Default worries

Great post - It's CD

It's all too easy to get disheartened. Yes PP has changed. But as we've said before on here, it's still a million miles better than most other places, not just on the Iskand but also on the mainland too.
