Default Looking for old postcards

Hi,

I'm looking for old postcards of PP. I've seen a few on eBay but am looking for more sources now. Anybody got any ideas?

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve

I know this is probably a silly question but are you looking for old postcards as in "old" themselves?

Or postcards of PP how it used to be years ago?

If it is the latter there are some shops in Pollensa selling black and white or sepia postcards but they are not "old" themselves, if you know what I mean!

Hope you find what you're looking for
Jane

Hi Steve and welcome to the Forum.
I take it your a post card collector. If not and all you want is reproductions of old postcards then there is a Photographers in Pollensa that has a good selection from his families studio. Their studio/shop is opposite the Cockerel fountain.

Sorry I can't be of anymore help

That's the one, Rob!

How come you have all this info at your fingertips??

The shop is lovely and the postcards are fascinating - PP and Pollensa have changed so much.

If anyone has a scanner and has bought the postcards, it would be nice to be able to scan them onto Flickr.

Regards
Jane

Wow, huge response! Much more than I expected but I should have known better knowing how resourceful you lot are! I'm looking for postcards showing PP as it looked in ye olde times, say 1960's and older. I've ordered some good ones off eBay from the 50's showing the Pine Walk and Hotel Illa D'or but any others would be great. I'm not a collector, it's just an idea I had for a Christmas present for my wife Louise. Having said that I think I may have got the bug!
If I can get my head around the new picture forum I'll scan the ones I get and post them up.
Thanks again,
Steve
PS. How do I put my photo up against my name? I've tried linking it to a pic on my PC but it doesn't work - help!

Pollensa's the one to ask about getting your photograph next to your name, you need a photograph which is certain size and it must be posted some where on the web ie the Photo Forum.
Have you joined there yet?, If not send me your e-mail address and i'll send you an invitation to join.
Good luck with the hunt for the cards. I bought some last years framed them and they look fantastic hanging on my walls. I plan to buy more in 2 weeks time. If this guy has a website I'll post a link to it.
Take care.
Rob

Ps if you find some old postcards on the web you can get them made up into postcards look at this service provided on our very own forum
