Default Old Fortress

Does anyone have any information on the old fortress near the military base at PP, ie. the history/if anyone lives there now.

As far as I know, the 'old fortress' as it is described above is actually an extremely large villa. I believe it was empty for quite some time and for sale for an awful lot of euros. Now looks (from a distance) to be more looked after and the gardens somewhat more manicured than I have noticed over the past few years. The views across the bay will be magnificent and also the other way towards formentor I would think.
A lot of yachts and power boats seem to moor off there, though I don't know if people are allowed on shore. Nothing seems too accessible due to the sensitive nature of the adjacent military base. I sometimes think of the following words when using the beach at the far end of the Pine Walk - 'Sorry lad, we're posting you and the family to Puerto Pollensa. Oh what a shame, but we'll give it a try for the summer!'.

Perhaps one of the 'locals' will know a little more.

Default La Fortaleza

As far as I am aware it is still on the market. See:-

La Fortaleza Puerto de Pollensa feature.

La Fortaleza - Spain Property | CBRE Residential

It was put on sale back in 2008 for 100-125 million Euros! See:-

The £79m Majorcan pleasure dome - Times Online

Interstitial - Noticia

The article in The Times gives a nice potted history of the place.

Yes. I understand that it is a £105 million Euro Lottery rollover tomorrow night so that should easily see a comfortable purchase of the Fort with a spare £25 million or so left over afterwards for redecorating!

It looks like we may be too late. What shall we do with tomorrow's Euro lottery winnings now?!

According to a news item in March this year on the Balearic Properties website the property was finally sold earlier this year.

MALLORCA PROPERTIES, MALLORCA PROPERTY SALES & RENTALS Most expensive property of Spain sold in Mallorca

Ah, hence Pescadore's sighting of the manicured lawns etc. Oh well, move on to the next dream!

The area the Boats are moored in that you see is known localy as chicken bay given its name for the boaters who are to chicken to go round the light house corner as this area can be quite choppy. It is a great place to moor up, snorkle, swim or just relax. Its very busy on a weekend as many Local family,s take the family fishing boates etc and tie up along side each other and eat and drink and sleep and the children play in the water.
You cannot go on shore as it is not accessible.but if you get chance to grab a ride on a boat its worth the very short trip we spend many happy hours out there with anchore down and something cold to drink.
If you do go round the Corner the next bay in is known localy by Boaters as Bare Bum Bay (will let you work out why) but that aside the water here is amazing Deep Blue and green and you can get a shore to a tiny beach.

I can confirm that the property is still privately owned by an English family from the North of England, but is for sale. Think I will need a big lottery win though !!
