Dear all,
I haven't logged in to PP Forum for quite a while and I was just looking through some of the posts to see what was new, interesting etc. Some of the posts go back to 2001, maybe even further!
Don't you think it would be a good idea to have a 'clear out'? Delete all posts older than say 6 months.
Just a thought. What do others think?

Sitting on the fence as usual, I agree that a clear out may be necessary. BUT, whenever I have a query relating to PP, I know I can go back through the old posts and hopefully find what I'm looking for. Its been invaluable.

At the end of the day, it's up to Pollensa to do any clearing out, but I can still remember the day when the forum was hacked in May 2005 and the terrible feeling we all had when hundreds of our posts were wiped out, many of them never replaced.

They weren't just information posts, they were reminders of some of the great personalities we have on the forum and the friendly banter was lovely to read.

It's great to look back if you need the name of a restaurant of hotel, even though the information might not be still as relevant.

I really don't see the need to clear stuff out - especially as some of the advice still applies. What would be useful - but ezBoard doesn't seem to provide yet - is a means of stopping people resurrecting very old posts (by posting to them)instead of starting new ones. I've seen this on other forums.

I could perhaps 'lock' posts older than a year - but as ever it's the time required - and I'm afraid I just don't have it at the moment.
