Default Weather / Eating Outside in May 2008

Hi there,

We're contemplating a fortnight in Puerto Pollensa in the first 2 weeks of May 2008, but not sure what the weather would be like. The chart on this site shows it should be nice in the daytime (although the prospect of 8 rainy days per months worries me!) but would it be warm enough to eat outside in the evenings?

We would save about £1000 by going in May rather than July but it would be a false economy if the weather is not great and we don't have that summer holiday "vibe" of wandering around in the evenings wearing shorts and paddling in the sea!!

Any advice welcome.

I have been to Pollensa about twelve times over the last seven years and always visit in May, June or September. We have been very lucky and only experienced really bad weather once.
May is usually lovely, not too hot or crowded but still very much a holiday atmosphere.
We are about to go for New Year so I am planning on taking some warm clothing for this visit.

Thanks all, but having studied the data from previous years I think we're going to go in June instead as we did last year.

While it is temtping to save a few quid by going early i'd bitterly regret it if the weather was poor - our memories of the children splashing in the sea by the pine walk at about 8pm are so special we'd hate to find it was too cold for them to do that in May!

All booked up now for 1-15 June 08, cannnnooooottttt waaaaiiiiitttttttttt.......

Now to get car rental sorted - will read up on the advice here first.....
