The only place to get the actually situation is the Government web site . News papers tend to use headlines to sell papers so UK government web site is the only place for facts am afraid

Please, do not rely on what you read in the press or on FB .

Just checked the website for The Miramar Hotel, and it appears that they are not opening until around 19th June 2021 - yet it STILL says on the website that they are re-opening on 1st April 2021.

Now I know that we are not booked in until last 2 weeks of August, but we are getting closer to a date when they will be forced to close for the season - after all, they have to pay wages, suppliers, etc., and 2 or 3 months trading may not be financially viable for them.

Do any of the Forum members have any more information on what their plans are - all info gratefully received.

I most certainly don't, but I imagine they are just like any other business and keeping all options on the table. So many things still up in the air that they just won't be in a position to make any firm decisions.

Continued thanks for the good information on this forum and another warning not to believe what you read in the press (English or Spanish). I was supposed to be on a flight EZY from LGW to PMI which I watched take off this morning and the press are still talking about the UK amber list and not a single mention about the fact that UK travellers post Brexit are still not allowed into Spain. Interestingly no guidance from EZY although I did get a full voucher refund when I cancelled my flight last night (and a car hire refund when I remembered to cancel at 5 am this morning!!). The moral appears to be “let the traveller beware”

I see the Mallorca Times are saying that 16000 Brits are heading to Spain by the Weekend.

How's that going to work then??

From this Sunday, bar and restaurant interiors in the Balearics will be allowed to open until 6pm.

Establishments without terraces can have 50% capacity indoors. For those establishments with terraces the capacity indoors will be 30%.

As for terraces, the closing time will now be 11pm and the curfew will start at midnight.

The measures cover the period May 23 to June 5.

So were all allowed in from Monday then......a day after my flights booked last year! One day out!!

I'd actually pushed it back to 9/6 a few weeks back anyway as it was supposed to be a birthday celebration out there. I'll have to content myself with a cold wet bbq over here now. Ho hum...

Not sure how how Japan is being allowed in with us.....I was only looking at the situation out there where they are in the middle of a fourth wave, have only 1% of the population vaccined and most of the general population want the Olympics cancelled.
