Default Hairy Bikers

The Hairy Bikers are on Majorca tonight. BBC2 8 o clock. Might be worth a look.

A little disappointing.

It just seemed SO British. The skipper of the yacht was British, the group of locals were British, Marc Fosh is British and loads of other shots re-inforced the 'Brits on holiday' sterotype. They even showed how to cook fish n chips for chrissake!

Bit of a pity as other episodes in the series have celebrated local cuisine, local ingredients and local expertise.

This was all a bit 'El Dorado'!

Couldn't agree more Graham, so disappointed, the others in the series have been so much better

Ahh! El Dorado! Sunshine, tanned bodies and whitwashed buildings. Far more uplifting than unbelievable story lines in Emmerdale and dark and depressing Eastenders.

Or have I my rose tinted specs on:I've recently been to Specsavers.

As the the Hairy Bikers were island hopping, I was reminded of Triangle....

Have said it before , but Keith Floyds Stuff across Spain and Mallorca in my opinion remains the yardstick by which all others aspire to.

Even Rick Steins series was a rehash of what Floyd had done.
Same producer and in a lot of the series they even used the same background music.

I thought they both seemed really unwell - Dave was hoarse, Simon barely spoke and didn't take part in the cooking in Pollensa - when he did appear he looked absolutely dreadful, so am assuming they were both the victim of the dreaded lurgy. Not blaming them if that was the case, but it really didn't do Mallorca justice, certainly compared to the Corsica programme. I've been to Corsica and while it is a beautiful island, the Balearics are at least as stunning and certainly more interesting as far as cuisine is concerned.

What a Complete waste of viewing time.
Most of use know of the culinary delights of typical Mallorcan cuisine and those two
Greasy bikers did not show it a a favorable light.
As for there Tour of the Island Well !!! Left Minorca For Mallorca.
They landed in the port ???But missed it entirely.
As Polllensafan states Floyd did it best. Put on the repeats

I have to agree, I thought it was awful. It was like listening/watching a couple of school boys trying desperately to be funny but failing miserably! Very disappointing

I hadnt really seen many of their programmes so from what I had seen of them I didnt imagine it would be authentic !

It was odd they were arriving in PP supposedly and all I realyl noticed was a bit of the bypass and roundabout

My husband watches Spanish TV on the internet and watches a Spanish cooking prog he likes Havent noticed him cooking anything yet though !

There was a microsecond shot of Calvario steps and then it was all inside a cave (?!) with a pizza oven
