Like Debz1 we were there through the most appalling January week during which I would have defied anyone to start work on anything! A Force 9 gale at least on one particular night and absolutely torrential rain on most days and with numerous power cuts ...... and I gather from local contacts that it has continued with only the occasional let-up. The resort is certainly paying for a heavenly winter last year!

I thought it was common knowledge that if you do any form of work involving cement and similar materials below a certain temperature, you will have wasted your time and before you know it, you'll be ripping the whole lot up and redoing the work.

Anger in Cala Bona over Paseo Marítimo works

Sounds familiar..... This is not an invitation to reopen old wounds;) - just to inform what's happening in other parts.

The Daily Bulletin reports:

"However, there is a good deal of anger among local businesses because the work only got under way at the start of this month, and Son Servera town hall says that it will take approximately three months to complete; quite possibly, therefore, until May. Hotels, meanwhile, are preparing to open, as are other businesses."

Was going to say good to see PP isn't the only place where it goes wrong but actually it's terrible to see a similar shambles in another resort.

It beggars belief that they cannot get their act together on an island where tourism is the main source of income

Just back from a two week stay. Stayed on front at Llenaire. Most impressed with new promenade, did not trip over once, not even on way back from town of an evening.
Whilst my wife and I are not youngsters we try the walk as often as we can. The pavement surface is good. Had comments from others complaining that buses no longer run along front and therefore stayed out of town. This could effect business.

Well if it does it certainly wasn't noticeable the week I was there. The place was heaving with folk and that was at the start of may. A time not considered to be in the main season. :)
