This has been posted on FB, it is the plan for the new bus station between the by-pass and the car park next to the health center.
The translation of the notes below the photo is

Working late this evening, Lynne. Thanks for the picture. Very helpful in pinning down the location.

Did they draw the plans on the back of an envelope, seriously, this should alleviate all of the issues for the people affected, but still a longer walk for people staying on the front

In the year 2017 sounds ominous but you'd hope it would be ready for at least the start of summer.
I take it this has come after the alleged meeting with the council yesterday?

I believe someone had taken a photo of the plan and printed copies to post in a block of apartments for the residents to see.

To be fair, it's straight up from the square. Google Maps has it as a 7 minute / 450m walk to the roundabout at the front.
Not as central as the old one.
Hopefully they'll have a taxi rank beside it as well.
Though yes, it'll take up lots of car parking spaces in the new location.

Yes spaces will be lost in the car park but some will be recouped in C/Tramuntana and C/ Roger de Flor, these were lost to make way for the temporary station .

Takes all of 2 mins for a normal person to walk from there to the square, hopefully lowered kerbs etc will be in place for those not so able as part of the project.
Plenty of empty spaces along the 'ring road' on a regular day so I don't see this affecting parking too much, just means people will need to walk an extra few mins.
Hopefully will also benefit businesses on c/Traumantana as well.

It will be quite a walk for people staying on the front with cases, say if you are on the pine walk, but still much better than where it is now!

Is there any more news on this? I assume the bus stops are still on Roger de Flor?

This has been posted on the ' Puerto Pollensa bus problem' FB page .
Quote:
Good news from the Municipality of Pollensa!
Today 17th of May 2017 the undersigned Christian Bugge Hjorth had a very constructive meeting with Sr. Andrés Nevado Rodriguez (who is "Regidor de Port de Pollença" and member of the Municipal Board) and Troels Muller was present as interpreter and translator. Andres Nevado could inform us that the Municipality has been working intensely for the implementation of a better solution for the buses in Puerto Pollença and that they have been finally heard! The Extraordinary Plenum of Pollensa Municipality adopted yesterday 16th of May the plan, including the financing plan, for the construction of a new terminus bus station in the Port. The Govern Balear, in cooperation with the Consortium of Transports of the Balearic Islands have adjudicated 400 000 € to the project and the Municipality has adjudicated 40.000 euros on top of that. The new terminal bus station for Puerto Pollensa will be built behind the Health Station (PAC) in the northern end of the Port, on what is presently a parking lot.
The waiting area will have benches and will be covered by a roof to protect against rain and sun. There will also be toilet facilities accessible to wheelchair users. The planning for the whole project is done and ready, forming the grounds for said final and firm decision. More information will be rendered official within a few days and the photo I am posting today show the convenient and necessary shelters and other essential facilities. This solution is of good quality for solving the pressing problems at C/Roger de Flor and to handle the Port´ s bus traffic within the longer term frame.
The works with this new bus station will start in September and shall be ready to use from January 2018. Andrés Nevado says that the financing deal between the Govern Balear, the Transport Consortium of the Balearic Island and the Municipality of Pollensa has been duly adopted and, by the vote yesterday 16.05, final. Andrés Nevado assures us that this is a final decision, politically and juridically, so it is now 100 per cent sure the Port´s bus station is going to be removed from where it is at present C/Roger de Flor and transferred to it new location as outlined above.
Andrés Nevado tells us also that is a general feeling that the temporary ongoing solution we are experiencing today is a bad one in all respects, both for the inhabitants and for the passengers. The impression is that the politicians as well as the population as a whole have been aware that the temporary solution has been unsatisfactory and that they agree with our description of the temporary problematic situation. During the interim period the bus drivers will be instructed to turn off the engines of the buses when they have to stop for longer periods at the terminus station in C/Roger de Flor in order to reduce the exhaust fumes. Andrès Nevado is sorry about the inconveniences this is causing but asks us to show a bit of patience this summer as the plan will be implemented start September.
Signed: Christian Bugge Hjorth, creator of the Facebook "Puerto Pollensa Bus Problem" and representative of the inhabitants of the Edifici Eu Moll apartment block. (Translated by Troels Muller from Norwegian to English

Thanks Sparky, fingers crossed this all actually happens! Shame it couldn't be done for this summer but let us hope they will check the drivers do actually turn their engines off!
