Default local courier?

Silly me left 1 trainer at the hotel on Friday. They found it, but won't post it back (fair enough I suppose, they must get a lot of stuff left behind), suggesting that I arrange a courier to pick it up.

Initial net quotes indicate about £60 to do this....not worth it at that price.

BUT does anyone know a local courier I could contact for a quote, rather than use the big boys.... ?

Just a suggestion but if you post where you live and the name of the hotel some kind soul may pick it up and bring it home to the UK for you and post it on or arrange personal collection if you're lucky enough to get someone who lives close enough to you?

This sounds good in theory Nick but i think in this day and age most people would be wary of carrying something for a stranger through customs, not that i am saying anything against SMG.
