Default 1970 Cruise ship passengers in Alcudia on Sunday

Over the course of this week, 35,000 cruise passengers will have sailed in to Palma on board thirteen cruise ships of varying sizes. In addition, the Thomson Majesty, with 1,970 passengers on board, docks in Puerto Alcudia on Sunday sez Mallorca Daily Bulletin..

Any of these heading for PP I wonder. Perhaps get in early on Sunday to bag your bed and brolly oh, and your table for lunch

Further investigation required, but I wonder if the Majesty is doing a turn around at Alcudia ie discharge all passengers and collect a new lot. Big strain on the local infrastructure.

When we were in Palma last September it was overun with cruise passengers

We love the old town but hoards were descending on Bars etc so we went a bit off the beaten track to get away from them We have had a few holidays in Palma so know it quite well

Another evening we were heading down the Passeo Maritemo from where we were staying to the town for dinner and another cruise ship had disgorged passengers and there were walking groups with a leader We saw group No 16 go past us ! Luckily werent coming to our Restaurant !

Didnt realise Alcudia could take big ships like that Hope the new one in Southampton this week doesent end up there or the island will tip over !!

While on a nautical note, Sparkys favorite transport, mv Pont Aven, has been having a problem with its propeller shaft and propeller pitch control.

See here for Brittany Ferries cancellations to PV sailings. Anyone booked for the overland/sea route to PP?

Rather you than me, chuck. I wonder if they have done an abandon ship drill - and how long it took to evacuate?

Here is the itinerary for the Thomson Majesty - Catalan-Promise

Alcudia is just a Port of Call, after departing from Palma, so they'll just be getting off for the day. It seems to be a tender port as well so will be docked somewhere out at sea.
