Default Pick Pockets at the Main Bus Stop

Just to let you all know that my Dad had his wallet taken from his fastened back pocket whilst waiting for the bus to go into Alcudia this morning from the main stop at the roundabout in PP. They had got someone else's wallet at the same time as well.

Thanks for the warning Joelise. There seems to be a pattern emerging here. Hopefully the same group in action....hope they will soon be caught.

Have just seen my parents this morning as they came home yesterday from PP. They were quite alarmed as someone had unzipped my Dad's pocket in the bus queue in Pollensa last Sunday lunchtime, he had felt them do it and shouted out. Three men scuttled off away from the crowd, he remarked that one of the men was either missing an arm or had his arm inside his jacket. Because of this attempt my Dad emptied his wallet of cards etc. and just carried cash. When his wallet was stolen at the bus stop in PP on Tuesday he said that a smart young oriental gentleman lent against him in the bus queue and as he went to get his wallet out, which had gone, to pay on the bus he saw the man and 2 other young men disappearing off across the other side of the roundabout. My Mum and Dad went into the information kiosk who were most helpful and they called the Police station so when my parents got there to report the theft they had sent for an English speaking officer. Whilst in the Police station another couple came in as his wallet had gone, and later that day in the Daina they spoke to two others who had had a wallet and a purse taken.
I realise we all know this happens but I have posted this update so anyone who is using the bus in the area is forewarned as they seem to work in groups of 3.

Sorry to hear that and know how upsetting it must be for your parents.
Thanks for the description as well. As least gives people the "heads up". Also pleased they told the police.

Thought they might operate in groups of about three. One to do the theft and pass it on to another thief while the third keeps lookout maybe? Vermin.

My (slightly elderly) auntie had been across visiting us back in August and on her first day we took her on a walk up to the Eroski at the top of the town to get some supplies in for her (wasn't too keen on going full on local) and get a few things for ourselves.
She'd unzipped her handbag for her purse in the queue at the checkout but since other food was being bought waited till outside to 'square up' the costs and in the 2 mins that had passed she'd had her purse lifted while at the till.

I wasn't in the store at the time; unfortunately as I'm usually quite vigilant when it comes to things like this so just another word of warning.

Not a good start to her holiday...
