Default Postal services in PP

We have returned from another wonderful holiday in PP last week and it was marred by only one issue.

I noticed my opal ring was missing on the last day just before we left the Hotel . I was in a total panic and reported the missing ring but nothing had been handed in.

However I received a call from the Daina hotel the next day (last Wednesday) stating they had found the ring in the room we had vacated and that they would return the ring by post the next day.

So it is now Tuesday evening and so far no ring has turned up . So my question is before I call the hotel tomorrow.

How long would it normally take a package (presuming it will be in a jiffy bag or similar) to arrive in the UK ?

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your ring. I can only speak about postcards....they can take up to 2 weeks to arrive. Let's hope it will turn up soon.

Default Oh Dear

Was hoping that it would be here by now .The ring means so much to me that I was just so relived that it had turned up !

Will wait a couple more days if I can even if they tell me when it was posted for certain then I can relax a bit.

Will post a review of my PP holiday soon but just like to state that the Hotel was really good and we will return there next year . Had a fab sea view balcony room and the views at all times of the day and night were worth paying the extra for.

You could ring the Daina and ask if they used "recorded" mail because if they did it can be tracked .

My parcels usually take 4/5 days to arrive in the UK. Depending on day and time of posting. The mail leaves the Port at about 2.30 each day ,but not on Saturdays. I am sure it will arrive soon.

It all depends on what method of posting they used. If normal posting was used it could be anywhere up to 10 days to 2 weeks. Not wishing to put a downer on it I can also tell you that having worked for royal mail for 43 years, theft is a massive problem. When I retired 3 years ago even then, theft just in the greater London area averaged 10,000 items a year.

Posting from PP to UK normal delivery is 2/3days. I have never known it more than that. The problem is UK to PP, this can be 10 days to 3 weeks. I am sure the Daina will have posted your ring appropriately..

Default Not yet ...

called the daina at lunchtime and they assured me that it was posted "recorded delivery" last Thursday so finger crossed that it turns up in the next few days. I am sure this must happen more than we imagine so will try not to worry too much.
