Default Passport info

Hi all. Can anyone tell me please if my 5 year old is able to travel to Palma from the UK if her passport expires in August this year, without having to renew it? We are looking at possibly coming out for a week in June. Thank you.

That should be fine as you are only staying for a week. My husband's just been to Mallorca for a fortnight (from 5 April) with a passport that was due to expire halfway through May and no one at passport control in either the UK or Palma raised an eyebrow.

I would also suggest you contact the airline you are flying with. Easyjet, for example, have previously applied a three month remaining validity rule on passports (and received negative media coverage as a result) notwithstanding what the Passport Office says.

The Airline are the main people you need to contact as they could refuse to allow you to board they all have different rules and can be quite strict as they get heavily fined if a problem is encountered with a passengers passport so the AIRLINE are the people you need permission from regardless of what any other office tells you

It seems to me that its only the airlines that seem to bother. Getting into spain through the customs ,( What customs, and where is it ? ) just wave a redbook and nobody bothers coming or going. Although UK are strict.
