Default The Talk of the North.

Have just seen the latest issue of TOTN and it says it is finishing publication. Graeme and Aimee have done a great job and will be missed by many. The Alcudia/Pollensa Hot Guide will continue.

A great shame. A sign of these economic times.

El G i don't think this has anything to do with the "crisis", here is what Andrew said in his Voice of the North article in the TOTN.

It would be wrong to suggest that it has been easy to make the TOTN particularly profitable. It would also be wrong to suggest that it hasn't been hard work. But profitability and hard work aren't the reasons why, with this issue,it is to be discontinued. Graeme and Aimee are moving on, and i wish them the very best in their return to the UK.

It was sad, as I was doing the layout of those pages of Talk of the North for which I was responsible, knowing it was to be the last time. As Lyn says, the decision to close the publication is not economic as such; Graeme and Aimee are going back to the UK.

I believe there is still a place for a local publication. Were it not for my other commitments, then I might have taken Talk of the North on, but because of those commitments it would have proved impossible on my own.

We'll have to enjoy your pages in the DB Andrew until maybe someone else takes it on.

Smile Talk of The North

It appears that Talk of The North is about to make a comeback.
I understand that it has been sold to a lady called Joanna from Pollenca, and that she hopes to have her first edition out around 10 April.

Cheers!
