Default Things that make me smile: The alternative list

Well it's Winter, the forum is a little quiet and I have a day off work today so I thought I'd post a list of things that make me smile when on holiday in the area. Depending on your "wave length" you may not "get" all of them!

In no particular order;

1) The Bimbo van
2) Eroski chocolate truffles
3) Mallorcan beds, suitable only for Mallorcan people.
4) Sweaty cyclists eating at Tolos
5) Buying a book at the airport, and finding the same one at the villa you have rented
6) Hearing "littlePrayer" by Madonna on the car radio (again)
7) Lidl Lasagne
8) The pink sun loungers on Alcudia beach
9) The large cairn on the Boquer valley walk
10) Pony Pisador
11) The "clown" on the main road between the town and the port
12) Log burners, log not burning!
13) Mallorcan women in knee length boots and jeans, I'm in shorts.
14) Foul smell when entering Eroski
15) Cheap wine in Lidl
16) The need to always know where the fuse box is!
17) The cats on the bin at the end of the Cami de Campanet
18) Villa equipment, always something not working
19) A drink at Bar Mallorca after walking the Siller pass
20) The unguarded drain on Cami de Marina
21) The cat who let's you stay at their villa!
22) Having to work out the TV, DVD and Sat TV cables- oh and the batteries in all 5 remotes need changing.

Happy holidays

23) Not buying a book at the airport as you know there will be at least a dozen at the villa you have rented, when you have arrived and explore the villa they are all in German

In a similar vein - wanting to watch a tv programme but the last people had changed all the channel settings to German ones

14) Foul smell when entering Eroski

Unique only to the "new" Eroski, as the other branches don't suffer from it. Why they think that the smell of hospital mortuary will make their latest fish offer more appealing, I will never understand.

1) The Bimbo van

As for the Bimbo bread van -With such fab fresh bread around, whoever buys a loaf of Bimbo? Ask any of the villa cleaners what food always gets left-behind from the welcome packs, and it is always top of the list!

It always takes me days to work out how to turn them on, why! at home you dont!! Mind you, the instructions how to operate them is nearly always scribbled on the back of a fag packet, in code! And why do they never have Spanish TV, that must be free to air, I dont want to watch Emmerdale while in Spain, but it would be nice to catch up on local news and weather!!

Agree with 3, 9 and 13, but 14, is it just me but or is it the smell of the drains you like, when the sewage works was between the port and Habitat I used to love the smell as you walk past (thinking about it is probable just me and I shouldn't have shared that with you )
