Well we've done it. We're finally here in PP....for good!
The last few months have been mind blowingly stressful - selling our UK house (still not sold), clearing out said house, organising visas, organising a long term rental (our house here is still not built) and sorting travel for the animals - but we made it and we arrived here on Saturday!
Buying the one way plane ticket was very strange and Saturdays flight was an early one so we were pretty much on autopilot and rather dazed and confused all day.
Sunday had the same dazed and confused vibe and we all kept saying to each other "I can't believe we're not going home - this is our home now". It's a weird but amazing feeling.
Yesterday we collected Red our cat and Bonnie our dog from Son Xotano boarding kennels in Selva. Red is 18 years old, quite an age to go abroad for the first time. He seems to have coped with the journey here very well. Bonnie our little cockapoo I think has been slightly traumatised by the whole process but after a day of cuddles and TLC she seems to have settled down.
Last night she had her first stroll down pine walk which is something we've been dreaming about doing since the day we got her two years ago. The heat may take a bit of getting used to for her. She's black and absorbs the heat so we'll need to keep her out of the sun and cut her hair quite short for the foreseeable future I think.
We'll be in holiday mode for a while, taking in the enormity of everything. So if you're out and about and see a family of three looking shell-shocked but giddy with happiness, walking a beautiful black cockapoo, it will be us, so please come and say hi
We look forward to meeting a few of you out and about one day (especially you Sparky, as you're fab looking after the forum and we're just sorry we haven't had chance to meet you yet).
