Who is out in May?.

I know it's highly unlikely that anyone is going to get out this May but perhaps you could post if you were going to come :(.

Lyndon 01-04-2020 10:35

We were coming for a week from the 24th and had been looking forward to it for ages as usual, so now we will keep our fingers crossed for September. Stay well everyone, this too will pass.

Miller 01-04-2020 11:22

Due out May 19th for two weeks. We are resigned to the fact that most unlikely now. Have to wait until September and hope for the best.
One thing to brighten our week though. Took advantage to visit local Tesco today during their " old f*@t" hour and was confronted by a huge stock of Mallorcan potatoes. Thought we may have missed out this year. Any good recipes please?
Sparky could you start a Mallorcan recipe page. No doubt you are an excellent cook. Perhaps a special from each of your favourite bars and restaurants? That should keep you busy.
All keep well

Roy&Myra 01-04-2020 11:29

Do you Mean May 2021???

Miller 01-04-2020 11:37

Both we hope but not likely.

car77 01-04-2020 11:58

We were :(

Not had confirmation from BA of cancellation yet, but had confirmation that our April 8th flights have been cancelled. Can't face hanging on for hours to get a refund twice so waiting for May to be cancelled as well and I'll do both together!

jonquet 01-04-2020 12:42

Got ryanair flights from East Midlands for May and end or June, but can't see it happening.Suspect airline will be reluctant to refund!
Just hoping Pollenca and PP survive......

Disorderly 01-04-2020 17:18

Our 4th May trip certainly won’t be happening. Having a vested interest in easyJet being in business at the end of this, we’re just changing our flight bookings to later dates as we go along.

PP76 01-04-2020 18:17

Due to arrive on the 8th.:(

Gp1602 01-04-2020 19:45

We were due to come May 24 for a week. Same as everyone else, our flight had not yet been cancelled but expecting it to be sadly. Our Easter flights have been cancelled so just waiting for refunds.
Hoping we will be able to get out over summer school holidays. Hope wherever you are and whoever you are with, you’re all safe and well x

Kathy Seloc 01-04-2020 21:18

We are due out on 17th May, not cancelled
anything yet, just waiting to see if Easyjet is flying
again. Otherwise next trip arranged is July..
am hoping to get to PP sometime this year. Take care
everyone and stay safe

Like you, I am due out in mid-May with Easy. But they grounded the entire fleet and put all staff on a two-month leave of absence (as of 30 March) so I can't see any flights until June at the earliest :(

meg1973 02-04-2020 12:32

:(was meant to be out for 5 days from the wednesday 6th to the 10th was going to have a day and night in palma on the Saturday through to the sunday , hotel we were meant to be staying are happy for us to move the date if necessary , were still hopeful for june but will just have to wait and see !?:(

Hamcas 03-04-2020 12:20

Like a lot of others we were due to come out 24th May for 1 week with grand-daughter and her parents but don,t think it is going to happen. We are doomed as was due to come out last May with grand-daughter but I had a stroke, now it is coronavirus. What next?

Just had confirmation from JET2 that our holiday from May 19th will not go ahead. They are hoping to start again from the end of June. Jet2 will contact us individually in order of holiday dates offering rebooking etc.

Great shame, might rebook if situation improves. Still have September booking to look forward to.
Jet2 appear to be their usual efficient self.

varsp 07-04-2020 15:32

We had our flights for 29/04 - 04/05 officially cancelled today. Hope we make it out in June, but who knows .

Deanscroft 08-04-2020 08:51

Interestingly if you go onto the Tui website they are still offering holidays on Mallorca for May.

Perhaps they are paying you to go!

Deanscroft 08-04-2020 13:08

Just seen - Tui have now cancelled all holidays up to May 14th.

I think they are just harvesting money so that they have some cash to refund the people that are chasing for refunds.

I just did a test booking for 19th May and was able to chose hotel, upgrade to sea view room at the Miramar, flights, add suitcases etc, I didn't pay though :)

The picture is a bit big but that is so it can be read.

I cant wait until we can have a holiday which I hope will be next year unless the prices are too high.

Hamcas 09-04-2020 17:40

Just had May holiday cancelled, will now have to wait to see if Sept ok.

car77 09-04-2020 21:45

BA cancelled our flights for 23rd May yesterday :(

Should have arrived yesterday for Easter.

Next flights are booked for July so will wait and see.

Gnome sweet Gnome!

car77 10-04-2020 21:43

At least the weather has been kind to us and we can get out in our gardens :)

According to a news report yesterday Tui, Jet2 and Ryanair are all planning to resume normal services between the UK and Spain from June 16th. Easyjet say they are reviewing the situation but are sill selling flights from early May.

Much as we love Puerto Pollensa, we will be erring on the safe side and staying at home for the foreseeable. Travelling too soon after the end of the lockdown, if not 100% clear, could have a serious impact on everyone and a resurgence of the virus which nobody wants. This would be disastrous for all.

sws97sdg 12-04-2020 10:35

The current FCO advice is an indefinite ban on unnecessary travel to anywhere in the world so until that changes we won’t be able to go anywhere!

pescador2009 12-04-2020 10:51

An excellent and very sensible post from ragdollabbi above.
We all love our holidays in PP but we must respect all aspects of the cv and especially so in someone else's country where things have been very bad.
I'm sure we will all (all being well) be more than happy to visit PP again with all that it brings to us on a differing individual basis..... when the time is right.
Our best wishes to all residents and businesses in a really nice part of the world, Puerto Pollensa.

varsp 12-04-2020 16:03

I can't see any country willing to restart foreign travel unless safe to do so.
