Muro General Hospital

Our little 2 yr old grandson developed a fever after a few restless days of not eating and sleeping. When Calpol didn't have any effect we decided to take him to Muro General Hospital.

He had a very thorough examination and a throat infection was diagnosed and anti biotics prescribed. We were in and out within the hour (11pm).

Top class service!

.. We then went to the 24hr pharmacy in Alcudia which was a bit strange. It looked all shut up except the green "+" light was illuminated and there was a light on in a back room. By pressing the emergency button outside a shute opened and we dropped our prescription in it. A couple of minutes later the shute opened and our drugs where there........... no words spoken at all!

What fantastic service and so pleased your little man is ok and now on the mend. It is always such a worry when they are so young especially.

A&E here - you would probably still be waiting!

Muro hospital is fantastic, my parents now well in their 80´s have received excellent treatment there over the past ten years, they have both had strokes, heart problems and my mother a broken hip.

Whether it be in intensive care, the general hospital or the other several minor ops they have had they have always received A1 treatment. Thanks to Muro hospital they are still going strong and now just go back for their monthly check ups.

Also the Pharmacys have been great, they have health cards which I just take in to get more tablets every week.

My parents got confused recently and I found my mother had been taking some pills meant for my father, and I went to the pharmacy and they from their health cards printed out a list for each of them of what of the many pills they take daily exactly what should taken and when.

So I too can only praise the health care here,
PM

PS: My parents have lived here for 30 years.

But just to clarify Muro General is a "private" hospital, for National Health emergency care with an EHIC you would use the PACS in Pollensa or the hospital in Inca.

Sparky is quite right.

The cost of having our grandson examined was €104. The examination was a thorough one taking about 30 minutes at 11pm.
