Default Eye hospitals and opticians near Pollenca?

Hi all,
I have a bit of an eye issue at the moment. Without boring everyone with the details I've been told that if I get any new floaters or flashes in my eyes I need to get them checked by an opthamologist. ( For retinal tears...gulp!) Thats fine in the UK as our opticians all have slit scopes and are happy to do do an eye exam, I wondered if it was the same in Mallorca or is it a trip to the local eye hospital or A and E??

Spain has a tradition of great ophtalmologists (Baraquer, Murube, etc.). Check in at the local hospital (Mallorca, potentially Muro) ASAP and get redirected from there.

Thanks, that's good to know. I did however wonder if local opticians in Mallorca were as well equipped as say Vision Express in the UK; they've teamed up with the NHS to do minor eye problems and I found them excellent instead of a hospital wait. Privatisation I suppose but relatively harmless!
