Surgery Required!

No not plastic!

I am new in Pollensa and am collecting my registered E106 from Inca tomorrow. I understand this will allow me to register with a local surgery. (Y move here is permanent so apparantely E111 not appropriate).

As I am expecting a baby, I am hoping to find a helpful and friendly surgery with a English speaking Doctor. (I can speak some Spanish - but feel that at this time when understanding is important, trial and error will not be good!).

If anyone can recommend a surgery in Pollensa or PP please let me know.

Hi Anna,

I believe there's a surgery where the police station is next to the public sports centre in Puerto Pollensa but I don't know any more. Hopefully a resident will be able to help you.

Regards.

There always used to be a surgery just off the square with a doctor that spoke very good English. I think it is still there.
Enter the square from the Formentor Road by the HIbiscus Restaurant, turn right at the end by a shop called Ponent (the electrical/hardware shop on the facing corner), and the surgery is just on the right as you get toward the square.
Sorry cant be more specific than this. Hope it helps

The surgery in the square is still there & very good (if you have insurance) but I think they may be private only. However I think the same doctor may attend the state one next to the Sports centre.

Help residents please!

That is correct, the only social security surgery is the one alongside the new public swimming pool, along from the sports club (of sorts). You will be allocated a Dr. from Inca automatically I think. All other surgerys around town, including the one mentioned in the Square are private and only suitable for very rich or for using private insurance. As you are pregnant you may see the specialist in Inca and you shall have your baby in Son Dureta in Palma. If you have private insurance which covers pre-natal care and birth then the Policlinica Miramar is excellent, and some of the Drs. have weekly surgery in Hospital D`Alcudia or Hospital de Muro. Pollensa Town has 24hr Social Security Dr. coverage and also have a midwife available once or twice a week, however, Drs.here in Spain will never give a home visit. Good luck.
