Unfortunately bottled gas prices are set to rise .

La bombona de butano sube un 5% a partir de este martes - Diario de Mallorca

The gas cylinder rises by 5% from Tuesday.
EP / Madrid The maximum price of the gas cylinder will increase by 5% from Tuesday, to 17.13 euros (including VAT + excise duty), compared with 16.32 euros it cost so far, as reported Europa Press in sources from the Ministry of Industry.

The cabinet led by José Manuel Soria has established a new mechanism for setting the price of the gas cylinder, which also will be reviewed every two months, the second Tuesday of the month, instead of every three months as had been customary.

Moreover, within these reviews bimonthly, the price of the gas cylinder, which affects more than eight million users in Spain, it can never register a swing up or down more than 5%. It also establishes that within a year the price of the cylinder must not exceed 17.5 euros.

This new bimonthly mechanism further includes a system similar to that of electricity, in which the amounts not covered generate revenue via tariff deficit that the sector will recover later, while industry will take care to avoid accumulating debt years a year to be sustainable.
The idea is that the months when the prices associated with the review of butane increases causing higher than 17.5 euros these excesses are not passed to the consumer, but it can be absorbed as soon as it drops rapidly in later months.

The new mechanism also absorb the losses incurred in January and February of butane sector operators forced to sell below cost.

The government decided last January to freeze the price of the gas cylinder. In its previous review in October last year, registered a drop of 4.6%.
