We get ours from Serv. Gasoleos in Alcudia. Not sure if they have a minimum. They seem to be very efficient and we have had no problems. Don't have a phone number but they are located at the rear of the Repsol garage between the horse and the knot roundabouts. Normally they deliver the same day.

Thanks for your reply.....we used a company called Sanbi, in Pollenca in the end. They were very good and their minimum order amount was 300 litres....where everywhere else we enquired wanted 500litres! thanks anyway!

We just moved into a house with gas-oil heating and I'm concerned about how much it is costing.

We have used about 300 litres in 6 weeks, costing about 50€ per week. We only have the heating on for 4.5 hours per day. 1.5 hours in the morning, 1.5 hours in the afternoon and 1.5 hours at night.

Also, the boiler heats the water too, at the same times as the heating. Does that mean it will cost us this amount all year round, regardless of whether we have the heating on or not?

Is this a normal cost? Are we using the boiler incorrectly? Is the oil evaporating into the ether? Any advice is appreciated.

Obviously it depends on the size of your house, but heating oil is much more expensive in Mallorca than the UK, we use oil at both. We can switch the heating off from about April - October which reduces the cost dramatically. It might sound perverse but keeping the heating on longer might reduce the usage. We have all marble floors and it takes 3 days for the house to get to temperature, The heating has to warm up all these cold surfaces and once they are warm then less heat is subsequently needed. The same applies in the UK where we have marble floors too. If you have the heating/water on every day for 6 weeks then 300 litres doesn't seem abnormal - but again I stress it depends on the size of your house. It is a winter problem. you won't use very much through the other months
