Just heard this myself too. Its got to be the same group, so they are bound to slip up somewhere and get caught. Fingers crossed. Hope all businesses are ok.

Guardia and police patrols have been stepped up tonight, i spent about an hour and a half in Circulo Cultural and they drove in and around the square at least 6 times. Also watched the Guardia drive in between the Daina and Casinet then turn right along the front.

The Old Bar Cultural were broken into as well, but I believe they caught one of them as neighbours called the police.

The bad news is that they had a break-in overnight and the TVs, Ciggy machine and safe were nicked .
There has been some confusion......have just been told it was not Circulo Cultural that had the break in but Bar Cultural in Roger de Flor. The robbers are aparently moving from town to town across the island .

Lets hope they are caught and dealt with quickly and sharply! Pollensa is such a wonderful friendly and safe place to be and certainly no-one should be put off from visiting because of a few people. The fact that they seem to be moving from town to town suggests that this is not Pollensa targeted. In this day and age there are a few who cause these problems. As there are only a few that makes crime few and far between. I appreciate that this is just awful for the poor people who are involved and hope their situation is sorted quickly.

We all need to take more care where ever we are as if these people see an opportunity they will grab it - literally! BUT PP is a wonderful family safe place to be. So lets just be aware and lets enjoy!

Hi Sparky, I have just posted in the other thread and perhaps my post is more relevant here. Please feel free to move if you think appropriate. Thanks and thank you for the info too.

Yes Eleanor i agree with you, there are reports of break-ins over much of the island and this is happening the world over. The good thing is the Police and Guardia have increased patrols so hopefully things will calm down.

P.S. Crossed posts, had already moved your post .

I believe that they have caught the "gang" responsible, it would appear that one of them is a well known figure in the town although I do not know who !,

Reading through the newspapers, in the last week or so the police and GC have been catching these criminals all over the island. When times are hard there will always be an increase in crime but this is still a safe place to live.
