Default Endesa To Terminate supply oct 2010

Hi All, Anyone else heard about the change of Electricity provider by oct when control is turned over to differing companies? (Great for competative prices) but how do they get away with a 5% increment every month from April-Oct? What of all the folkes abroad who are unaware of these changes?
Am i correct or mistaken?

The changes came in a few months ago. You were given the choice to change to another provider,Endesa still read the meters and bill you. If you opted to stay with Endesa you were given a new contract which I think is for 12months and then you get the option to change again. The list of other providers came out on the back of the letter explaining it. I have not seen anything else to suggest they will stop but perhaps someone else local has and can let us all know.

I have been trying to sort out a problem via their website www.endesaonline.com with no progress. I have their 'phone number as 902 508 850 but would appreciate an email address if anyone has one.
Dazzler my contract finishes on 01/07/2010 so presume there are differing 'termination' dates.

Now been provided with info ..... if you go onto .....

http://www.endesa.com

there is an English section ~ I have just sent an email on their standard (English) form to customer relations - hopefully this will work!

Don't think there is a direct link that is why I have just emailed their customer services department. I have the same problem as JMD40 - they come and read our meters in the summer (when the kids have the air-con on full pelt even if they are in Chivas!) then estmate our December reading based upon our August consumption!

They do it deliberately,if you look at your how your bill is made up you actually pay a higher charge for the large number on each invoice but this is never adjusted for when you get the 'true 'one

I think there will be a lot of teething problems with the change over, and I will bet on who will come out on the winning side!

(Still here eleanor, just a few outside influences going on!)

No luck! Emailed them to their 'customer relations' address and 'green policies' address. Both returned (from Endesa!!) saying "your email has failed" - methinks they don't want to help ~ I'll keep trying but if anyone else has an email address grateful for details.

Never had a problem with them, until recently, have received bills for about 120 E (3), i've only been there for 2 weeks since last summer, only used 2 oil-fired heaters and basic lighting, the weather was also good so the heaters were only on in the evenings/night. Seems a bit extortionate, anyone else getting hit

We have had varying bills from them as well. All very high considering we go about once every 2 months.

One of the biggest bills was for last November and we weren't even there then !

They are obviously all estimated and I've been told they're very hard to get hold of ?

I think Angie from the Nag's Head told me they have a small office somewhere in Alcudia where you'd never find it !

I'd consider changing but as already stated, don't speak much of the language so wouldn't have a clue what to do. The biggest worry would to get cut off and then have no electric when we arrived.......that would be disastrous.
