Lightbulb Opening a shop in Puerto Pollensa

Hi All

Myself and my partner are regular visitors to the resort and are thinking of opening a shop before the 2010 season. We both work in retail in the UK but fancy a change of scenery (who wouldn't). We've heard about the administrative nightmare that can be starting a business in Spain and wondered if anyone has any advise? We've heard about hiring a "gestor" or "asesor"? is this a good idea? We're also having difficulties finding out the sort of rents charged for retail premises around the resort.

So anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated! We really want to make this dream happen.

Cheers

Paul

Paulfryer, since nobody else has given you any advice, I would go over to PP and stay a while before even thinking about opening a business. It would all depend on what you,re thinking about opening, the chinese have the cheap shops all sorted, although I must admit I am a regular visitor to them, but so many business ,s are closing just now, you could make an offer for any of them and they will bite your hand off. My advice is be carefull. GPM
