Question Weekend Storm

Hiya,

just got a link showing the damage at Puerto d'Andratx
( Outer Quay destroyed in Port d'Andratx < Environment < News < Mallorca @ MallorcaWeb ) From the article in the Bulletin, it sounds as if the north east of the Island suffered the strongest winds... how did PP weather it?

Hope everyone out there OK (and insurance premiums all paid up !)

Miriam

Hi Med777, yes the wind was really bad and there are a few trees down and there is some damage, mainly awnings and signs. A small area of Gotmar was without power from 04:00 Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday. There are more high winds forecast for today, i hope it is not as bad as the weekend.

I have been told by my agent that a small wall about 2 meters high to the side of our patio has collapsed in the wind - thankfully nothing structural (I hope)

Sparyk - the video in your link reminds me of when I went to CSV the day after the hurricane a few years back. I stopped halfway down the hill of the Molins beach and got out of the car to have a look at the waves and got hit by an enormous wave that soaked me. Then had to drive back to my apartment where there was no electrics or heat!!

Default Weekend Storm

All things considered damage doesn't seem to bad, there has been some belters over the last decade or so, done much more damage. I was there a couple of years back (at this time) La Longa was destroyed and the beach was transferred to the other side of the road.
