Default Property Survey & Planning Permission

Hi there,

we are looking at buying a slightly older property & I just wondered whether anyone had ever had a survey done before buying. I know that it is not common in Mallorca but I wondered whether it was possible & if any knows/can recommend anyone.

Also does anyone know what the situation is re planning permission if you want to make structural changes internally i.e. add windows, move walls etc.

Thanks.

Hi Holidaymaker,

Although we did not get a survey done when we bought our apartment I know someone who had a survey done in the Spanish mainland, so I imagine it is possible in Majorca.

Would it be worth contacting the lawyer Tony de la Cruz as he could probably give you a few names of surveyors and and he would definitely be able to help give you an idea of the situation regarding planning permission.

His phone number is 0034 971 86 62 78
His fax numer is 0034 971 86 61 91

Email doesn't tend to be a popular means of communication unfortunately.

we had a survey done, arranged by tony de la cruz, quite expensive, but if you are nervous its worth it. As it turned out we didn,t buy, and the survey swayed it. gpm
