Default Keys

Having just bought an apartment in PP, I am worried about the possibility of loosing keys. Is it possible to leave spare keys anywhere in PP (hotel or apartment blocks possibly) they would need to be accessible all year and obviously be trustworthy?

Our apartment is in the centre of the town just behind Hotel La Goleta, so somewhere not too far from here would be ideal.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you are using a management company they will normally keep keys for you & for any guests. Another possibility is to install a 'key box' outside your front door (if that's possible) with a combination code.

Default Keys

If you are a member of a community (your apartment block will be the community) your administrator will hold a key.

Hi Frito,

are you sure this applies to all communities? Do you mean the on-site president or the legal administrator who does the admin etc. from another office?

I don't believe that anyone else has a key to our apartment apart from ourselves & our management company & we have had our locks changed fairly recently.

I think that this practice may depend on the specific community but I'd be interested to hear of how it works for other owners.

The management company keep a key for our apartment but I am sure the administrator would hold a key for us if we asked them as they seem happy to help with anything.

Our Administrator would hold a key if we wanted her to but she manages so many communities that I suspect it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack if someone needed it! We are only a community of four and the President of the community is very affable and speaks excellent English. He holds our key and it is very convenient.
