Default Markets - Pollensa and Puerto de Pollensa

I am interested in taking a market stall at either Puerto de Pollensa and/or Pollensa town weekly markets. Any idea how easy it is to secure a stall and how much it costs? Is there a minimum number of weeks to sign up for?

thanks for your help!

Hi Ali
I was talking to an English lady last week who has a stall in Alcudia market and I asked her why she wasnt in PP, she explained that she had been on the waiting list for 4 years and still no luck, and she would be drawing her pension before a place in Palma became available!

Maybe try Alcudia

hope this helps a little

Alcudia has 2 weekly markets - Sunday & Tuesday - so that may well be worth trying. Can you tell us what you will be selling?

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Waiting list huh? Oh dear!

What am I selling? What are you buying?!!!! Only joking. I have some fabulous all-cotton good quality Thai 'fisherman's pants' which (apart from being a fashion item!) are great for lounging around in, doing yoga, tai chi or meditation or for wearing during massage. One size fits all. I'm also trained in traditional Thai massage and one item on my massage 'menu' is a sitting 'back, shoulder & head massage', which can easily be done sitting at a market stall to tired shoppers! Maybe there is someone out there who wouldn't mind sharing a bit of their stall for a share of the cost? Especially during low season! I will ask around when I arrive. I will check out Alcudia too.

Thanks and warm regards from Thailand!

Am pleased to report a happy ending!

I am now living in Pollensa town and am renting a small apartment in Antoni Maura right by the Placa Major (Sunday market) and my landlady assures me I am able to sit in my doorway and practice as the property is licensed for commercial use. Well IŽll see what happens..... Stop by and say hello, if I have not been arrested I will be there! Thanks for your help pp.com!

There used to be some oriental people (not sure if they were chinese or not) that used to do massage on Pollensa market - I think it was shiatsu. It was fabulous! They used to be just in front of Cafe Espanyol on the square but they weren't there this year although my husband said that he thinks that they are now working from a villa/apartment on the pine walk. They always seemed to be busy, so I was surprised that they weren't on the market this year. So there is obviously a market for it!

We found it really relaxing and my husband who has hearing prolems, definitely found it beneficial.

Good luck!

Hi Sara

The guy who was doing it in puerto on Pine Walk is only here during the summer season but he has left now. Actually we did massage exchange on each other a few weeks ago!

The others you were thinking of in Pollensa town are no longer here, come and try Thai instead!
