Default Bank with zero charges, recommendations please

Until now, I've been impressed banking with Sabadell in PP. Without notification and in this current climate, have charged for management. I don't need any bells and whistles, just a bank account to pay my Spanish DD's, deposit and withdraw euros with zero costs. I'm currently researching BBVA. Any recommendations? Many thanks.

The banks used to cover their costs with the difference between what they could earn by investing your money and what they had to pay you in interest. With interest rates so low this is no longer the case so they are looking to raise money elsewhere ie. by charging for their services. I might be wrong but I don't think you will find a high street bank that now doesn't charge but there are usually ways of avoiding it. I know that with Caixabank if you transfer in at least 600 euros pcm and have a couple of direct debits then the fees are waived. If you don't need a high street bank then one of the internet banks may be a better choise.
