Uk tv?
Hi, we have just bought, and moved into our apartment here in PP, can I ask what the situation is with accessing UK tv, do we buy a satellite box of some description, and if so - where from?! Thanks for any information, as you can see, I am completely out of date with this stuff! Any info gratefully received.

Hi Kazzer....depends how much time you are spending out there. If you do have a dish to pick up sky, take out an old HD box and like me, pick up about 100 channels (not sky) and UK radio stations too. I use vodafone for data rather than buying a package.
If you're out there for long periods, you might need to do/spend more. |
Thanks very much.

re Mike Dublin's posting - I have now been using the system I described for nearly 3 years. Although I have had a few minor niggles, Internet Protocol TV has worked very well. I have access to all the UK Freeview channels (including HD) ; the picture quality is stable and sharp; I have 30 day catch up and free access to over 650 TV series (UK and US).
The biggest cost is the broadband supply (Movistar) but I need this for work anyway. Not being technology minded I have found it a straightforward solution. |
Many thanks for all the suggestions.

If you have a community sat. dish that you can hook up to you just need a 'set top box' to access the free channels. I use this set up but have now started using an Amazon fierstick with a mi-fi unit on a pay as you go sim with Simyo - about 15€ a month for 22gb of data.

Great thanks for all the suggestions, all very much appreciated.
