Default Banking advice

Can anyone advise me as to the procedure to close an account with Banca March in P. Pollensa even though I am no longer a property owner in Spain and live in UK. Do I have to appear in person at the branch?

It might be best to call Banca March first on 0034 971 779 111 or write to them as different banks in Spain seem to have different procedures for closing accounts with them.

With the quarterly fees some banks in Spain seem to charge, it might be best to do this as soon as you are able if you don't need the account any more.

If you still have a 'gestor' or solicitor in Mallorca maybe they will be able to assist you.

Thanks very much for your reply. I have previously rung Banca March at that number who immediately referred me on to the branch in P. Pollensa.
As I had an e-mail contact, I sent a mail requesting more information regarding the account closure. The response was to ask me when was I visiting Mallorca next? Do I take that reply as a "yes, you do have to attend in person".

Does anyone have experience of dealing with Banca March?
