Default Car Insurance

For many years we have had our car insured with Lineas Direct, but we think we are probably paying more than we need as it isn't as easy to shop around with no price comparison websites. We are paying €450 for a small car - Toyota Auris, which is after full no claims bonus, but includes breakdown cover.

I would be interested to know if this sounds expensive and any recommendations for alternative insurance companies who speak English.

Sparky - I am not sure whether this post is in the right place, but no doubt you will move if it isn't. Thanks

This is very similar to the amount we pay to insure our Ford Focus, it covers any driver, I had originally thought it would be more expensive when we bought the car a year ago, we did not look around but got the Ford dealer to arrange the insurance for us so not sure if cheaper options are available.

I think thats slightly more than we pay for our car (Fiat Panda) so could be to do with the type of car and your own circumstances. We use AXA in Pollenca (located opposite Optimus on Carrer de Tito Cittadini).

If you have the time, go past and talk to them. We've always found them excellent to deal with and useful having a local broker to work with; what do you have to lose?
